Why Choose the Network Operations & System Security (NOSS) Program?


TheÌýNOSSÌýprogram prepares students to pursue careers in a variety of entry- to mid-level positions including, but not limited to, help desk, network system administration, and cybersecurity.

Students prepare for careers involving the protection of information on computers and networks against unauthorized access or modification of information and the denial of service to authorized users. Learn security measures, both physical and virtual, necessary to detect, document, and counter such threats.

Our curriculum includes basic and advanced computer and networking skills, physical and virtual security processes,Ìýand procedures, and introduction to security management, planning, and recovery.Ìý

The NOSS program was formerly known as Computer Networking & Information Systems Security or CNISS.

Potential Careers

Plan, implement, upgrade, or monitor security measures for the protection of computer networks and information. Assess system vulnerabilities for security risks and propose and implement risk mitigation strategies. May ensure appropriate security controls are in place that will safeguard digital files and vital electronic infrastructure. May respond to computer security breaches and viruses.
